If we ever needed an excuse to take about a month off from recording a podcast episode, the best we could come up with was Jennifer testing positive for Covid.

One of our biggest fears hit on January 25, and we’ve been pretty much playing catch-up ever since. Part of that game of catch-up is recording this, our 24th episode of A Couple Takes on MS.

In this episode, we recap the challenges that come when Covid hits a married couple living with MS whose disease modifying therapies weaken the impact of the vaccines that are supposed to protect us from the virus.

This includes nurses in hazmat suits, Jennifer going solo for a monoclonal antibody infusion, living fully masked for 10 days in our own house, and sleeping in separate beds for the first time in over 16 years of marriage.

But all was not lost on the tense moments of this experience. It tied in perfectly for Jennifer’s essay about National Caregiver’s Day that appeared on MultipleSclerosis.net, and it gave us a reason for two moments of joy:

1) Discovering Dan’s favorite podcaster Jay Shetty’s “Daily Jay” on the Calm app

2) Dog sitting for our friends Adam and Erica’s dog, Breslyn
