Is it possible to live in denial of something you think you accept?
I have concluded not really and maybe all at the same time.
I recently realized that’s what I’ve been doing with my Multiple Sclerosis for the past 25 years.
It hit me at 2:34 AM that what I’ve done is EXCEPTING my MS rather than ACCEPTING the reality that I have this progressive disease of the central nervous system.
I encourage you to check out my current essay of Exclusive Content for MS Focus Magazine online—No exceptions: I need to accept my MS issues—where I shed some light on the rude awakening I had after I “wall walked” from Jennifer and my bedroom to the restroom and back in the late night darkness.
“… every time I talk about realities such as stumbling when I walk, tiredness throughout the day, or having to make excessive trips to the bathroom, I acknowledge they could be the result of MS, but I always am quick to make exceptions. Or, more to the point: excuses.”
