When Jennifer and I met, two things she wasn’t sure about me was that I was a HUGE Bruce Springsteen fan and that I loved baseball.
But she liked me and was willing to give both a try because she knew they were important to me and were things we potentially could enjoy together.
And this is how we spent our day on October 24: Listening through Springsteen’s newest album Letter To You and watching its related documentary in the afternoon and then staying up past midnight watching the Tampa Bay Rays and Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 of the World Series.
We did more than just listen and watch them: We both enjoyed them.
This is part of what help us to keep the spark alive in our relationship: being flexible and taking advantage of all opportunities. Keeping an open mind doesn’t hurt either. Jennifer now loves Springsteen AND baseball 🙂
She and I recently talked about this in our presentation “Keeping the Spark Alive in MS Relationships” as part of the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation’s MS Focus Teleconference Series.
Watch this video of our presentation where we shared insights into ways couples can continue to keep the romance in their relationships alive and commitment to each other strong in spite of the challenges that MS and life present.
Enjoy, and please comment on our blog to let us know how you keep the spark alive in your relationship.
