Our challenge of Multiple Sclerosis and multitasking

Multitasking is tough.

Dan and I do not have children, but if we did, I am afraid we would neglect one child over the other.

Simply put, we do not divide our attention between two things well. We lose focus and direction quickly. We do not multitask, and as evidenced by Matt Cavallo’s essay Multitasking and MS, we are not alone among other people living with Multiple Sclerosis.

We start working on projects, and BOOM! something comes up, we get distracted, pay attention to said distraction, and leave the initial project unfinished for several weeks.

Our writing is a perfect example of this, and we’ve neglected writing for this blog. We start drafting content and then other deadlines take precedence. Sorry.

We have actively contributed our perspectives and experiences through other channels over the past month, and we are beyond thrilled to share the work we’ve done with you all here.

Check these out, share your thoughts with us in the comments section, and we promise to put our blog at the top of our multitask list in the coming new year 🙂

7 ways to extinguish MS-induced anger
MS Focus Magazine online

While anger is a natural emotion, it’s important to keep it under control and not let it consume us. Check-ins & check-ups go way beyond MS
A Couple Takes on MS Podcast

MS doesn’t hold the market on our health concerns. In fact, we see other doctors more often than we connect with our neurologist. In our latest A Couple Takes on MS podcast, Dan and I contemplate the realities we were dealing with as we prepared for our pending appointments with my gynecologist, Dan’s podiatrist and our shared dentist. You get an inside look into issues like what I fear the most about both of these doctor visits and why Dan rarely tells new doctors about his MS.

MS and My Lost Cause: Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow?
MultipleSclerosis.net

Losing hair is no fun, but it did provide good inspiration for my latest essay on MultipleSclerosis.net. In this post I chronicled my quest to get to the root of my hair issues (pun totally intended) that took me from my hairstylist here in Mount Pleasant to members of online MS Facebook communities all the way to my neurologist at the University of Michigan Hospital.
