Evolution Fitness is putting its own spin on the term “Bike MS.”
The Mt. Pleasant-based gym is hosting its annual Evolution Fitness Bike-a-Thon for MS from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9, to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
This really is a big deal for Dan and me.
Organizers of this independent event contacted us last year to attend after they were well on their way to having everything planned.
It was very humbling and overwhelming when we went to the gym for the event. There was a huge group of people on stationary bikes who already had put in several shifts peddling hard, sweating a ton and putting in their time to help raise money for people like us who are living with MS.
It warmed our hearts when we read the information about the upcoming event on the Evolution Fitness Facebook page.
“Let’s come together and change the world one pedal at a time. 🚴,” it states. “Join us as we try to change the world for people with MS one pedal stroke at a time.”
Money is raised through each cyclist donating $10 (or more!) for each of the four 30-minute cycle classes they participate in for the event.
What’s awesome is you don’t have to cycle to support this fundraising effort.
You can donate by:
• Mailing your check (payable to the National MS Society) to 1717 S. Mission, Mt Pleasant, MI 48858
• Venmo to @Tracy-Florian with “MS Donation” as the subject
Proceeds go to the National MS Society, Michigan Chapter. While the National MS Society supports programs all over the country, this state-based chapter helps people in counties throughout Michigan.
As the Facebook event page encourages everyone: “Let’s come together to support our clients, neighbors, and friends as we pedal toward our goal – a world free of MS!”
And please check back on our blog in the coming weeks for our follow-up on this important event.
