In a world where fairy tales seldom venture, a remarkable story unfolded. Dan and Jennifer embraced a true-life tale of love amidst the challenges of Multiple Sclerosis.


Jennifer was diagnosed with secondary-progressive MS in 1997 and Dan was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting MS in 2000. Their lives changed forever after meeting in 2002 at the National Multiple Sclerosis Society event “Finding Your Buried Treasure.”


In 2005, Dan and Jennifer married and embarked on a mission to inspire others facing similar obstacles. They became beacons of hope in the MS community, pouring their hearts into activism and advocacy, determined to make a difference.


As District Activist Leaders and esteemed members of the Government Relations Committee for the NMSS in Michigan, their dedication has no bounds. Dan and Jennifer’s impact extends far beyond Michigan. As the couple fearlessly shares their story, people across the nation resonate with their journey of resilience, love and triumph over adversity.


Together, they penned the book "Despite MS, to Spite MS," a testament to their fighting spirit and unwavering commitment to each other.


In recognition of their extraordinary efforts, Dan and Jennifer were inducted into the NMSS Volunteer Hall of Fame for Advocacy in 2015.
